Sin embargo, que la sensaci\u00f3n sea muy similar al <strong>dormir mucho<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/hipertextual.com\/2023\/12\/efectos-dormir-mal-salud-mental\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">s\u00ed que resulta raro<\/a>. Las famosas <strong>curas de sue\u00f1o <\/strong>a las que nos queremos someter a veces despu\u00e9s de una semana dura no suelen dar lo que prometen. Nos levantamos con dolor de cabeza, picor en los ojos, las piernas pesadas\u2026 \u00bfc\u00f3mo es eso posible?<\/p>\n<p>La clave est\u00e1 en que, para ciertas cosas, nuestro cerebro es bastante cuadriculado. El sue\u00f1o, como otros procesos fisiol\u00f3gicos, sigue patrones de 24 horas conocidos como <strong>ciclos circadianos<\/strong>. Cada d\u00eda dormimos y nos despertamos m\u00e1s o menos a la misma hora. O, al menos, as\u00ed deber\u00eda ser.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando dormimos poco, el cerebro entra en conflicto, porque se rompen los ciclos circadianos. Y la realidad es que al dormir mucho tambi\u00e9n los estamos rompiendo. Nuestro objetivo es descansar, pero el resultado es totalmente el contrario. Este act\u00faa con base en las se\u00f1ales que le llegan <strong>a trav\u00e9s de la retina. <\/strong>Cuando entra luz, interpreta que es de d\u00eda y, por lo tanto, debemos estar despiertos. En cambio, si no entra luz, se supone que es de noche, por lo que comienza a liberarse melatonina, una hormona que nos ayuda a conciliar el sue\u00f1o.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de los patrones de luz, nuestro cerebro <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/23452153\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">puede moldearse ligeramente<\/a> seg\u00fan nuestros h\u00e1bitos. Si cada d\u00eda nos levantamos a las 8 de la ma\u00f1ana, esa ser\u00e1 la hora a la que nuestro cuerpo<strong> se prepare para despertar<\/strong>, aunque se haga de d\u00eda un poco antes. Pero nuestro cerebro sigue pasando por las fases del sue\u00f1o. Esto genera una contradicci\u00f3n que se manifiesta a trav\u00e9s de un <strong>cansancio muy parecido a la resaca<\/strong>. En la fase REM el cerebro est\u00e1 mucho m\u00e1s activo. De hecho, es la fase en la que se producen los sue\u00f1os. Por su parte, la fase no REM consta de otras 4 fases: una de paso de la vigilia al sue\u00f1o, otra de sue\u00f1o ligero, una tercera de relajaci\u00f3n y finalmente una de sue\u00f1o profundo, que antecede a la fase REM. La sucesi\u00f3n de esas fases conforma un ciclo completo, que de media suele durar unos 90 minutos. Una persona, por lo general, pasa por<strong> 5 ciclos a lo largo de una noche<\/strong>, con microdespertares de los que no somos conscientes entre uno y otro.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image Esto lleva a que, en vez de despertarnos al final de un ciclo, como suele ocurrir con normalidad, podamos hacerlo a mitad. Quiz\u00e1s incluso en medio de una fase de sue\u00f1o profundo. Sin embargo, otros estudios recuerdan que <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hopkinsmedicine.org\/health\/wellness-and-prevention\/oversleeping-bad-for-your-health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">no se puede saber qu\u00e9 produce qu\u00e9<\/a>. Es decir, \u00bfdormir mucho produce estas enfermedades o estar enfermos nos hace dormir m\u00e1s?<\/p>\n<p>Es algo que se debe seguir estudiando. Sea como sea, lo que est\u00e1 claro es que dormir mucho no es tan reparador como nos gustar\u00eda creer. C\u00ed\u00f1ete a las <strong>7-9 horas recomendadas<\/strong> o, como mucho, en casos extremos, llega hasta las 10. Pero no vayas m\u00e1s all\u00e1. Sobre todo, intenta que tus ciclos sean constantes.
